Cobras & Lagartos is a Brazilian soap opera on TV Globo that aired from April to November 2006. The plot, written by João Emanuel Carneiro, follows the story of millionaire Omar Pasquim, who, facing a terminal illness, discovers the betrayals of his family and his niece Bel. When he decides to leave his fortune to Bel and his friend Duda, a mix-up causes the inheritance to end up in the hands of the scoundrel Foguinho. He, encouraged by Ellen, a saleswoman at the Luxus store, continues the charade and becomes president of the company, facing the antics of other characters.
